The Truth About Accreditation...

If you have ever considered attending college, you will need either an accredited high school diploma, GED or accredited High School Equivalency Certificate.  All accreditation is not equal. There are 6-regional accrediting agencies:

Valid Accreditation:
Regional:

New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC)
North Central Association Commission on Accreditation and School Improvement (NCA CASI)
Middle States Association of Schools and Colleges (MSA)
Southern Association of Schools and Colleges (SACS CASI)
Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC)
Northwest Association of Schools and Colleges (NWCCU)

Valid Accreditation:
National:
DTEC Distance Education Training Council in Washington, DC

Valid Accreditation:
State:
Any Accreditation Sanctioned or provide by a State Department of Education.

How does one identify whether a school’s accreditation is valid? Well, it is untimely up to the accepting agency, college, university, employer or the Military. You can almost always be sure that accreditation recognized by a State or The US Department of Education will be valid.
Excel High School is a in the pre-accredited (Candidate) regional accreditation stage with AdvancED/NCA CASI/SCAS CASI. There are many fake and illegitimate worthless accrediting agencies online, so you will need to do your homework to be sure your school and their accreditation is valid.

This is especially important for obtaining financial aid for college; as well as securing any type of State or Federal Government employment.  This is not to say that all accreditation that is not sanctioned or recognized by the government is worthless or bad, by nature.

We have found that through the years, government recognized accreditation is viewed with more creditability.

Be warned that there is a group in Pakistan that operates fake online high schools, colleges and universities. They operate fake schools, fake accrediting agencies and essay sams.

Bogus, Fake and Unrecognized Accreditation: If a school has accreditation from any of these schools, they are a scam.

International Accreditation Committee of Online High School (IACOOS).
International Accreditation Organization (IAO).
Capitol Network for Distance Learning Programs (CNDLP.org) as well as the American Accreditation Committee for Higher Education (Americanache.org).
The Accreditation Council for Online Colleges and Schools (ACOCS)
Higher Accreditation Association for Online Schools (HAAOS)
International Accrediting Body of Online Schools (IABOS)
Universal Council for Online Education Accreditation (UCOEA)
International Accreditation Agency for Online Universities (IAAOU)
Board of Online Universities Accreditation (BOUA)
World Online Education Accrediting Commission (WOEAC)
Universal Accreditation Agency for Online Education (UAAOE) – a renowned accreditation agency.

Trust your instincts. If you are getting a bad vibe about a school or their credentials, you should continue seeking a better option. Always check out a school with the Better Business Bureau.

Characteristics of a Fake School or Fake Accrediting Agency. No physical address or a real person (In the USA) answering the phones. Beware of a voicemail or no address or phone and fax number.

Check with your State or the US Dept. of Education when in doubt about a school’s accreditation.  Check out Excel High School for more details
